Welcome to our home on the web ~Pokagon Cockapoos~!

At Pokagon Cockapoos, we are focused on providing the finest cockapoo pups with the highest levels of customer satisfaction – we will do everything we can to meet your expectations.
Our dogs are cared for in a family environment with our family, and with our friends who have young nieces who like to help as well. We also have a great veterinarian to check our dogs for health and give those dreaded shots! LOL!
Our dog groomer is the best. She loves to spoil our precious doggies (which is the best attribute of a good groomer in my book).
Look around our website and if you have any comments or questions, please feel free to contact us. We hope to see you again! Check back later for new updates to our website.
Wisdom of the breed:
We specialize in red, apricot and buff multi-generational cockapoos.
The advantage of multi-generational cockapoos is that they are an intelligent and sturdy dog that is non-shed/hypoallergenic for most people.
Our pups usually mature to the 17 - 28 pound range, and a proud square build with a solid frame.
We are careful in our breeding practices to maintain the integrity of health , excellent disposition and good looks of the cockapoo.
The background of our cockapoos are AKC mini poodles, and only the best select AKC cocker spaniels.
I have discovered that mini poodles are greatly overlooked in temperament and intelligence. Poorly bred toy poodles and standard poodles seem to be the reason that poodles get a bad rap so often. There are many others who have reached the same conclusion. Toy poodles are often timid, and fragile, standard poodles are often hyper and rambunctious, and the mini is known for high intelligence, and superb trainability.
As for my cockers, I learned there is a lot of variation in size, temperament, health, and appearance. I have had pet quality, and show quality, and no matter which arena you are in, the breeder must be choosy when selecting what goes into future generations. Only the best for our cockapoo babies!
I have been very interested in the different breeds of dogs from a very young age. As a child, my favorite books were books centered around dogs.
I feel like the cockapoo encompases everything I love about dogs!
They are not only adorable, but they are easy to live with, and still retain that wonderful canine instinct that has made dogs man's best friend for ages.
Many people have asked me about my breeding practices, and usually the questions start with how many litters per year that I breed.
I do not overbreed my dogs.
They are rested on a schedule, and usually retired early as recommended.
I am glad that people are concerned about puppy mills. I certainly am! I found out recently that the requirements for housing a dog is 6 inches of additional space beyond the size of the dog.
I don't know why in the world anyone would purchase a puppy from a pet store knowing that they are supporting such cruelty.
Our dogs are very happy, and healthy. They have room to run at full speed in the fresh air, and proper housing to sleep in comfort.
We feed high quality food, and supplement with vitamins and raw, natural food as well.
Medical issues are attended to promptly, and vet visits are routine.
We keep our dogs groomed and clean.
Proper worming and shots are given as well.
